  • Kathie Fleck, PhD

    Kathie Fleck, PhD

    Kathie is the Ohio Department of Transportation's chief of staff. She is responsible for the overall leadership and strategic direction of the communication, legislative and legal divisions. Before joining the department, she was the chief of staff for the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio. Kathie has held many leadership roles in state and local government in Ohio and Indiana. Additionally, she has executive experience in the private and nonprofit sectors. Kathie has taught for over 20 years at various universities, including the John Glenn College of Public Affairs at The Ohio State University and as a tenured faculty member at Ohio Northern University.

    She holds a Doctorate in Law and Policy from Northeastern University, a Master of Arts from Indiana University Bloomington, and a Bachelor of Science from Bowling Green State University. She is also an Associate Certified Coach and owns her consulting firm.

    David Johnson, PhD

    Dr. Dave Johnson is a licensed clinical social worker, marriage and family therapist, board certified clinical nurse specialist (adult mental health), holistic health nurse, and internationally certified mindfulness teacher (professional). He is a Professor of Nursing at the University of Saint Francis and an Employee Assistance Specialist with Parkview Health in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Clinical work has focused on psychological trauma, family therapy, anxiety, stress , and Holistic Care. He has expertise in executive/leadership coaching, organizational diagnosis & intervention, as well as community and corporate workshops. He has worked with over 250 local and regional organizations with consultations, presentations, and publications. As a husband, father, and psychotherapist, Dr. Johnson weaves stories and anecdotes that reveal the nature of stress in juggling work and family and strategies for maintaining one’s sense of humor and perspective.

    Anthony Juliano

    Anthony Juliano is Vice President/General Manager at Asher Agency and the Founder of Point Six Four Consulting and Training. He is an experienced speaker, trainer, writer, and marketing and communication strategist, and he focuses on various topics, including communication, marketing, branding, productivity, and social media (with a specific focus on LinkedIn). Anthony has taught at four colleges, served as a keynote speaker, presented at international conferences, delivered a TEDx presentation, completed five marathons, and jumped out of a perfectly good airplane. He lives in Fort Wayne.

  • Mary Lahman, PhD

    Mary Lahman, PhD

    Mary is a retired Professor of Communication Studies at Manchester University in North Manchester, Indiana. She is the former Education Chair of the International Listening Association and one of the first five people nationwide to become a Certified Practitioner of the ECHO Listening Profile. In 2018 she developed and implemented a new curriculum at the University dedicated to listening. Her book Awareness and Action: A Travel Companion, published by the Institute of General Semantics in August 2018, is a practical guide for learning to communicate well.

    Mary is a 1983 graduate of Manchester University and holds advanced degrees from Miami University of Ohio (MA, 1984) and Indiana University (Ph.D., 1996). Before teaching at Manchester, Mary worked in professional sales for 11 years: four years for Eastman Kodak Company in upstate New York, followed by seven years for Johnson & Johnson in northeast Indiana.

    Amy is the founder and CEO of Recruiting Experiences, an organization founded to help companies simplify their hiring processes and to train the next generation of recruiting professionals. Amy believes recruiting experiences should be efficient, grounded in avoiding bias, data-driven, and kind. After falling into recruiting, like many recruiting professionals, she developed a passion for identifying top talent and building high-performance teams in technology-focused companies. She has over 20 years of Talent Acquisition, and Training & Development experience.

    Amy led global Talent Acquisition and In-ernal Mobility for PSAV, a $1 Billion private organization with over 1000 locations worldwide. Most recently, she served as Vice President of People Operations for Kinney Group, an Indianapolis-based Federal contractor for IT services. Amy holds a Bachelor's degree in Organizational Communication from Ball State University.

    James Reid is a labor and employment attorney who counsels business owners, entrepreneurs, C-suite executives, in-house counsel, and human resources directors to make strategic business decisions, from hiring to firing, while complying with the ever-changing and overlapping laws, including the ADEA, FLSA, FMLA, NLRA, and Title VII. He brings a business-focused and proactive approach to legal matters to help employers make strategic business decisions to minimize the potential for litigation and business disruption.

    His deep understanding of his client's businesses enables him to deliver clear and concise counsel to meet each client's needs. If litigation is involved, he enforces restrictive covenants and defends employers against charges filed with the EEOC, state, and federal agencies.

    James regularly audits and investigates employers' wage and hour practices and claims of discrimination and harassment. He provides training and prepares employment documents, including employee handbooks, employment agreements, and separation agreements, to cover all aspects of an employee's life cycle.
